Perhaps it's one of the most challenging yet inspiring assignments you will put upon yourself, painting for another artist. I have produced nearly 400 works in some capacity, either illustrations, paintings. One of the best things you can do is to learn from other artists. Surround yourself with their art, work with them and paint for them.
I am lucky and fortunate to be in a "niche" artistic environment where I have supportive artists that want to do so. We all have similar interests "poodles" "horses" "animals" and "art." And so the story begins... "Can you paint me a picture? Let's work together! " ...And the magic starts.
It's challenging and you of course want them to like your artwork, but in the end, it's not a competition between artists, it's a journey. A documented journey of where you were on that day, and where your art took you, how you got inspired.
So my challenge for those artists out there: trade and do a painting for another artist. You'll grow, and you'll have a bit of fun! Remember, nobody can paint exactly like you can, so each work has its own signature on it, literally and figuratively. Surround yourself with others art. You will see and observe more in someone els' work than your own pieces. You will grow.
Everyone is inspired by something... whether it be another artist, a picture of a great piece of work. Let your creativity shine and stay true to your style.
Grow and journey together. It's a great ride.
Be well and creative!
